Where we are and what's around and to do



We are situated 6 miles from the Welsh Showground, LLanelwedd, Builth Wells, on the A470 towards Rhayader and North Wales. Click here for a map of the area. The New Inn is in the centre of the village at the junction with the B4358 to Llandrindod.

By rail: Llandrindod Station and Builth Road Halt on the Heart of Wales Railway Line between Swansea and Shrewsbury are each about 4 miles away; pickups can be arranged. This single track railway goes through wonderful scenery in either direction.

By Road: A483, A470 from Swansea and the South West of Wales; A44, A470 from Rhayader, Newtown and the North; A470 from Brecon and Cardiff and the South (M4); A481, A470 from Hereford and the East.

We are: 2 hours from Bristol, 1½ hours from Gloucester, 3½ hours from London.

There is plenty to see and do around us. We are 6 miles from the town of Builth Wells and the Royal Welsh Showground. As well as the main Royal Welsh Show in July there are frequent other events during the year.

It is 10 miles to Rhayader which has an important centre for Red Kite feeding all the year round and is the gateway to the wonderful Elan Valley with the beautiful reservoirs, much wildlife and extensive walks.

In August, Llandrindod Wells holds its famous week-long Victorian Festival.
